President, Seattle Pacific University

Eaton was named the ninth president of Seattle Pacific University in 1996. Prior to his appointment as president, he served as provost (1995-96) and vice president of academic affairs (1993-95) at the University. Before coming to SPU, Eaton served as interim president at Whitworth University from 1992-93. He earned his bachelor's degree from Whitworth University and his master's and Ph.D. from Arizona State University with all degrees focusing on English and American literature.
